6-Tening A/C seat goes to NDPP

Dimapur, March 4 (MExN): The Election Commission of India has directed the cancelation of the “declaration of wrong result issued in favour” of NPF candidate in 6-Tening Assembly Constituency. As a result Namri Nchang of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has been declared the winner. The Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland in a press release informed that Namduadi Rangaku Zeliang of Naga People’s Front (NPF) was declared winner earlier “due to wrong tabulation.” The matter, on March 3, was forwarded to ECI. On reviewing the tabulation, it was found that Nchang had polled 7018 votes against Zeliang (NPF) with 6850 votes, the release said. Hence, NDPP has won the seat by a margin of 168, it added. With this, the NDPP-BJP alliance total seat has reached halfway mark at 30, with final tally of 18 for NDPP and 12 for BJP.
