Mokokchung, February 21 (MExN): One-day training on ‘practices of citronella and lemongrass cultivation’ was conducted at Kangstung Student’s Library Hall, Kangstsung village on February 21.
The training programme was conducted under the TRIBES initiative, supported by NABARD and implemented by Community Educational Centre Society (CECS), stated a press release issued by Aroty Jamir, Communication Manager, CECS.
Altogether, 72 farmers from Kangstung, Kangtsungyimsen and Aopenzu attended the training.
obin Chauhan from Bokajan, Assam, a progressive farmer with over 30 years of experience in citronella cultivation, was the resource person.
Drawing from his personal journey and field experience, he shared detailed insights on land preparation, selection of planting materials, spacing, nutrient management, maintenance, harvesting techniques and oil extraction processes.
