The 79th General Conference of the Chakhesang Students Union (CSU) commenced on Tuesday evening at Zuketsa in Phek district under the theme “Nurturing identity through knowledge and culture.”

Gracing the introductory session, former minister Neiba Kronu, reminded the gathering that attending such conference should not be taken lightly, but rather as an opportunity to dream big, reflect deeply, and return with a renewed sense of responsibility to spread positive messages in society.

He strongly highlighted that the most crucial phase in a student’s life is their academic career, urging students to give utmost priority to their studies.

He cautioned that failure to keep pace academically would lead to missing opportunities.

He also pointed out that the world today offers vast employment opportunities beyond the government jobs.

He noted that several multinational companies across the globe provide salaries four to five times higher than government positions, stressing the need for students to prepare themselves with the right skills, knowledge, and mindset to compete at a global level.

Further, Kronu encouraged the students to remain focused, determined, and future-oriented so that they can contribute meaningfully to their community and nation.

Gihuka Zhimo, President, All Sumi Students Union (SKK) shared greetings.

The programme was led by CSU Tribunal Rite Khutsoh, while the welcome note was delivered by Kupelhi Losou, Convenor, LOC.
