Dimapur, June 2 (MExN): District level workshops and trainings for the 7th Economic Census were held in Kiphire, Mon and Zunheboto to sensitise on participants on the whole process. The Ministry Of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has collaborated with the Common Service Centres (CSCs) under the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) to conduct 7th Economic Census.
Kiphire: A workshop cum training on regarding the census was held at DC conference hall, Kiphire on May 31. During the event, Holikhum Jingru, (DESO) Kiphire stated that the main objective of this training is to equip the detailed information on operational and economic variables, activity wise and other characteristic like number of establishment, source of finance, number of persons employed and type of ownership and to keep all the project stakeholders informed and involved.
The participants were trained on key concepts and definitions, processes, digital platform and application to be used for enumeration (supervision & data capture) in field during 7th Economic Census.
Later ADC, Wilfred Reny IAS, Kiphire appealed the CSC team and DESO officers to work with commitment for the benefits of Kiphire district and informed them to take the right information from every stakeholders, stated a DIPR report.
Mon: A District Level Training of Trainers (DLTOT) for 7th Economic Census 2019 was held at DC Conference Hall, Mon on June 1 where DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS stated exercise is done to completely count of all establishments/units located within the geographical boundaries of the country.
The non-farm economic activities carried out in the country have tremendous diversity in terms of organization and management, he noted.
The data so collected will be a crucial input for policy making at all levels, he added.
Thavaseela also requested those involved in the exercise to not only ensure that they cover all establishments but also obtain accurate data. He wished the best to the enumerators and supervisors who would be undertaking this work in Mon district.
Mugalo Kath, Inspector of Statistics, Mon presented an overview of the Economic Census while ‘Agenda, Implementation and Concept of Economic Census’ was covered by K Nahjai, CSC District Manager, Mon. The ‘Walk Thru-App’ was explained by M Tonkai, CSC-SPV District Manager, Mon.
Zunheboto: A similar workshop cum training was held at was held at Zunheboto May 31 2018 at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall. During the programme, short speeches were delivered by Ajit Ranjan, ADC and DLCC Convenor Zunheboto and N. Lhokiye Yeputho, DESO and Member Secretary DLCC Zunheboto.
