The 7th edition of August Rush is set to take place on August 15 under the theme ‘creativity meets art’ at the Heritage, Kohima. 

Addressing media persons in Kohima today, organisers from Richa Productions, Director Ato Richa said that the event was started with a vision to promote young local talent and it curates activities that give opportunities of talents and art. The platform is given to young upcoming generation to encourage and promote them. 

A host of activities and competitions this year include the 2nd edition of Nagaland Umbrella Festival which is taking place under the theme, ‘A Naga umbrella.’ The organisers said this year participants can paint or design an umbrella into an indigenous or traditionally inspired theme. The entry for the competition is Rs 100. Prize for this category includes Rs 10000 cash and gift hampers, informed the organisers. 

The mega one-day event will also see the finals round of the best of August Rush- Solo Singing competition, another prominent competition of the event will also take place on this day. 

After auditions and selection, 5 participants will vie for the title. The prize for the category is Rs 10000 and guitar and other musical gadgets and perks. 

The entry fee for the 3rd edition of fittest man and woman contest is Rs 300. Various prizes include free memberships and gift hampers.  

August Rush Power lifting competition in collaboration with Flex Appeal Gym is being organized for the first time with an entry fee of Rs 300. There are two categories in this competition. However, the winners will receive Rs 10000 each. 1st and 2nd runners up also will receive prizes. 

During the press conference, the organisers said the Spring Summer Fashion Show 2024 in collaboration with TS Academy will feature fresh graduated design students from the academy to showcase their work. The theme will be traditional fusion focusing on Naga identity. Organisers added that the works will be available in market next year. Spaces for stalls will be provided for local entrepreneurs to display, sell and promote products. Here, the best stall will be selected and given prize. 

Registration is ongoing and can be done on site. 

The entry fee will be Rs 100 per head for visitors and Gate open at 9:00 am- 9:30 pm.
