9 more test COVID-19 positive in Mizoram

Mizoram saw 9 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, taking the tally in the State to 160, according to the Health department.


According to the Health department, all the new cases of COVID-19 reported in the past 24 hours are returnees of Delhi. They are from Siaha district of Mizoram.


The Health department then said that those 9 patients are in the age group of 18 and 28. They are asymptomatic patients.


The Health department then said that all the 9 patients have been shifted to Dedicated Covid-19 Health Centre (DCHC) in Siaha from the quarantine centre they lodged.


On the brighter side of the news, a female COVID-19 patient has recovered and was discharged on Wednesday. The recovered patient is from Mamoit district. This information was also given by the Health department.

 

With this latest update on COVID-19, Mizoram has now only 37 active cases as 123 people have already recovered from the disease.


More good news about the COVID-19 status of Mizoram is the completion of testing of samples of returnees.

 

Mizoram reported its first case of COVID-19 on March 24. Inspite of the State struggling in want of enough quarantine centres had come back with convincing measures to control the spread of the disease.

 

According to the Health department, more than 13, 746 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in the State till date. The department also said that around the same number of stranded people have returned to the State till date.

 

According to an official source, around 2000 stranded people are yet to return to the State.
