Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): Book on Naga history, titled ‘A Brief Survey of Naga History’ written by Ihezhe Zhimomi was released at Dimapur on August 21. It was released by Reverend Tsolie Chase, who has been the author’s friend for more than 60 years.

Ihezhe Zhimomi, 92 years old, is also a former minister of the State, informed a press release from the Heritage Publishing House (HPH).

Speaking on the occasion, the author said that the objective of the book is “not to rewrite history. Rather, it is more of an effort to present the view point of the Nagas heretofore unpresented. It is an account from the Naga perspective.” He mentioned that most of Naga history has been written by outsiders and the first accounts are by the Ahoms and later on by the British.

Dr Lanusangla Tzudir, proprietor, HPH said, “The book is a comprehensive book on the history of Nagas as peoples and we need more of such books.” Remarking that most of the literal works on the Nagas by Nagas are usually on a single tribe, custom, tradition etc, she stressed on the need for more books on the history of the Nagas.

The book is available at Heritage Publishing House, Dimapur (opposite DABA, Duncan).
