The 9th edition of Captain N. Kengurüse (Mahavir Chakra) Memorial Football Tournament 2025 will start from October 22 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
Nagaland Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio will grace the opening ceremony as the special guest on October 22 at 10:30 AM.
This tournament, which will continue till November 6, is organised by Assam Rifles in collaboration with Nagaland Football Association (NFA) under the aegis of Op Sadbhavana, Spear Corps.
The tournament will feature 20 teams from various districts of Nagaland. A total prize money of Rs 6.5 lakhs has been set for the tournament. The tournament aims to promote sportsmanship, discipline and youth engagement, while honouring the valour and supreme sacrifice of Capt N. Kengurüse, MVC.

Group A: Adroit Boys FC Sechu Zubza (Kohima), Tehok FC (Mon), Langsa Hill FC (Mon), Wokha District Ex-Servicemen League Club (Wokha) and Defenders FC (Kiphire)
Group B: Auyang FC (Tuensang), Lushe FC (Phek), Shamatorian FC (Shamator), PDFA Junior FC (Peren) and SPL FC (Mokokchung)
Group C: Headhunters FC (164 NAGA TA), Detroit FC (Chumoukedima), Demokles FC (Chumoukedima), Phek Town FC (Phek) and Satakha FC (Zunheboto)
Group D: Nagaland Police, Dimapur Sporting Club (Dimapur), A.Yhome FC (Kohima), Bhandari FC (Wokha) and Mavericks FC (Mon).
