Thousands of mourners converged today to bid adieu to one of Nagaland’s eminent educationalist and veteran politician Prof. T Chuba, who died of cardiac arrest on July 15, 6:30 am at Zion Hospital, Dimapur. He was laid to rest at his private residence, near Ao Baptist Church Kashiram Dimapur (Near St John’s Higher Secondary School, Dimapur).
Hailing from Longjang Village, Prof. T.Chuba was the eldest son of Late Temsu of Longjang Village, Mokokchung District.
At the funeral service today, mourning her loss, Mrs. Sanen Chuba, wife of Prof Chuba said that he was a long time diabetic with very rare blood group (B+). She expressed gratitude to donors and also stated that God has been very gracious.
She narrated that her husband after leading a busy public life, his greatest fulfillment came after the end of his career when he started to devote most of his time towards serving God. She said that her husband became deeply involved with the All Nations House of Prayer, Jerusalem, Israel; Leaders for Christ International, Indiana, USA (which is involved in Third Nations); and the Jerusalem Ministry, Israel.
Mrs Sanen Chuba also shared that together they were establishing the Church building of Mount Khutak Prayer Centre, at Longjang Village. “It is his child, and as his wife what he has promised the Lord, I will fulfill. So please pray for that,” she requested. At the end of his life long journey, professor T Chuba found deep happiness in following and implementing the will of our Lord Jesus Christ. One of Prof. T. Chuba’s last words, Mrs Sanen Chuba shared to the gathering was this: “This world, I cannot trouble anymore…I want to go my Father, I have assurance of Salvation in my soul, and I will be happy there…” She also attested, “In the core of his heart, he always had the fear of God”.
At the funeral service, many people eulogized the professor saying that he was an inspiration not only to the Longjang community, but to the Naga society and his fellow colleagues as well. L.Tali Imsong, Chairman of the funerals service stated, ““A broken Nagaland can take this person as a prime example. Politicians are mostly people without faith is what people, say but let’s take the testimony of Prof. T Chuba’s life as an inspiration…”
Various organizations, past colleagues, family members and well-wishers attended the funeral service in honour of Prof T Chuba. Condolence messages were also delivered by representatives of by the Government of Nagaland, Naga Students’ Federation, Ao Senso Telongjem, Dimapur, Longjang Village Council, Village Council Ao Kashiram, Longjang Baptist Church, Changki Union, Dimapur, and Longjang Union, Dimapur.
Prof T Chuba is well-known and will be remembered for being a selfless person, an honest politician, and a revered educationalist.
