Dear Sirs, concerned citizens and leaders of the Naga. I am a preacher of Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour, the creator of the Universe. This letter I am writing at last, because at first I thought that it is not very important to be over concern about earthly things and earthly kingdoms. Because the Bible has already declared that it is useless to gain the whole world and loss our souls forever in hell. So I thought it is irrelevant to be over concerned about these things. But seeing that many unwanted things are happening like fratricidal killings the sufferings and the restlessness of the public due to such unsettled situations. I thought I should share a view of mind with the people especially the leaders.
As I said earlier, definitely it is useless to be over concerned, even if we become the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world, because, it is only for a short period, and we all will die in a few years and some will die in 20 or 30 years from now, in this case what is the relevancy in having the whole world under our feet.
But still I feel that I should not lose my balance and leave aside the present reality that is prevailing with us. So I am sharing with you without losing sight of spiritual relevance.
As we have been fighting for so many years and so many decades for a sovereign nation here, and we have suffered untold miseries including physical, mental, psychological, emotional and even materially or economically and also many lives have been lost, and still we feel that the goal is not around.
So my idea is to go public with our case. As we have seen something that violence cannot bring us the solution. And we have done both of them publicity as well as violence to some extent. But still I feel that we should do more on publicity front, we should go to the whole world especially the powerful and influential nations, and we should urge them to pressure India to be rational.and reasonable and do justice to us. At the same time in the home front also, namely India and Nagaland, we should see that the public of India and Nagas are also involved and not just the governments of India and Nagaland and underground parties.
In this regard, I want that our Naga leaders and NGOs to reach out to the leaders and influential NGOs of Indian public and not just the governments. And in this regard, women NGOs or women organizations of India will be more suiting tools and more powerful in arguing and persuading the government of India. Because as we know government is by the people, for the people and of the people. Because if the powerful NGOs of India and leaders and influential industrialists and business bigwigs began to urge the government, the government will definitely be stirred from inside and will have no option but to give way to our rightful’ place when compounded with international pressures. So in this regard, we cannot do in one go – we should go to every state of India and engage with the powerful organizations of each state separately to urge the union government because each state has its own unit of organizations (state unit NGOs and leaders). We should tell them they should urge their government (Union government) to consider our case. All on their own capacity and also at times even collectively. As we know women are more persuasive and generally women are at times more reasonable and (justiciable) and they generally don’t keep things against the will of other people. So we should focus more on women organizations of each state. So that they may urge their male counterparts.
I am aware that the women folks of India or Manipuris are in general as such not against any such idea as to accede or recede the Indian land, as because for them right is right and hence it is true with everyone.
As for politicians or ministers or MPs or MLAs what’s there as individuals. They are not against such idea individually or personally. Moreover they are not going to lose anything individually or personally, so they are hardly interested and hardly give attention to such thought, because most of the times they are preoccupied with their own activities and concerns.
As for ministers or MPs or MLAs why they are refusing or afraid to give way to our demands is because they have political reasons and ambition. They are afraid because if their public get angry by such decisions they may lose their popularity and thereby their political careers will be affected. That’s why they are saying this is a sensitive and delicate issue.
So what we do - our first priority should be to go to the public of India so that their public may urge their government to give way to our demands.
As for Manipuris – our NGOs should approach the different women organizations of Manipur, so that they may urge their male counterparts so that they may be dislodged from their rigid stance of not giving way to our rightful demands.
But here I want to give a warning note. Governments - whether state or central governments will never take the right decisions and the conflict will go on - because they want to keep their status quo politically, unless the public of India move their government (Union government). Because by right or wrong they want to keep going with their political career.
Leaders of the publics will be a driving force for the government to take decisions. For example some time ago Mahesh Bhatt (Film maker), who wrote to the union government to do the rightful thing regarding our case. So like Mahesh Bhatt, if many more leaders and powerful organizations and also by powerful organizations of every state, government will be left with no other option but take that last decision “Yes” to our rightful demands.
Let us be strategic. Let us not leave any stone unturned. Why should we fight within ourselves killing each other everyday. We have suffered enough. And enough is enough. Let us do something. Let us make the public of India restless regarding our case. Let us tell their women folks and let them argue their husbands in their bedrooms. This is something one effective way of solving our problems.
Meanwhile let us give each member of them a copy of the Bible from our side. Let them come to know Jesus, the real God.
