Assures to enhance grant-in-aid to colleges

Dimapur, April 25 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland, Minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along during an interactive session with the Private College Association Nagaland (PCAN) exhorted the members stating, “as we live in Christian environment, a little bit of Jesus in our vision will contribute much to our society.”

A press statement issued by PCAN Joint Secretary Dr George Keduolhou Angami stated that during the session held at C-Edge College, Dimapur on April 25, Imna Along assured had ‘he would personally take note of grant-in-aid to the colleges and also enhance the grant-in-aid to the colleges in the next academic year.’ 

Meanwhile, the minister also extended invitation to the PCAN members to join a consultative and brain storming session on the Concept note of RUSA 3.0 to be held in Kohima on May 2. He said, “We need ideology to take us forward and build up institution with robust vision which is yet to be realized in Nagaland.” Motivating the educationists, he said, “Our wealth is that we have students with us and every student is our favourite student.” 

Managing Director of Model Christian College, Kohima and PCAN, President, SP Francis in his keynote address highlighted the vision of PCAN to make Nagaland the hub of education. He reminded the minister to extend helping hand to the private colleges by giving RUSA fund, as it is done in other neighbouring states, to facilitate one time infrastructural developments in the colleges and help all the colleges in Nagaland get NAAC accredited. 

The interactive session started with invocation said by Dr Fr CP Anto, Principal, North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research, Dimapur.
