Kiphire, April 4 (MExN): A community library, Wisdom Stop, was dedicated at Tetheyu Village under Kiphire district on April 4, marking a step towards promoting reading culture and supporting exam aspirants in the area.
The library has been initiated by Apiba A. in partnership with Longtili C, with the objective of encouraging reading habits, providing access to learning resources, and contributing to the village’s development, informed a press release.
The dedication programme was chaired by Tsiphu, Youth Pastor, and featured short addresses by Longtili, founder of Akehda Amulung, and Tethsolen, Chairman of Tetheyu Village Council.
Speaking on the occasion, Longtili expressed appreciation for the community’s spirit and said that although the library is small, it would serve a significant purpose. He also assured continued support for its growth and described the initiative as a beginning for nurturing young minds.
In a message shared during the programme, Apiba stated that the initiative aims to foster a reading culture, assist aspirants with access to books, and enhance the village environment. He thanked donors for their contributions and acknowledged the support of his father in constructing the building.
He noted that “Wisdom Stop” signifies a “place of wisdom” (Lumlong).
Tethsolen, Chairman of Tetheyu Village Council, appreciated the initiative and expressed hope that the library would benefit future generations.
The programme concluded with an act of dedication and prayer led by Longtsaba, Pastor of TBL, followed by refreshments, the release added.
