AAI acquires 18.8 acres from Assam Rifles for Dimapur Airport

Chümoukedima, May 8 (MExN): The Airport Authority of India (AAI) on Friday took over 18.8 acres of land from the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School (ARTC&S) at 3rd Mile, Chümoukedima, for the Phase-I development of Dimapur Airport. 

A joint execution programme for handing over and taking over was held at Dimapur Airport, Chümoukedima on May 8, in the presence of senior officials from the state government, AAI and Assam Rifles, stated a DIPR report. 

The programme was attended by Moa Pongen, APD, AAI, Dimapur Airport, Chümoukedima; Commandant KD Sharma, CO, No. 2 Bn, ARTC&S; Sentiwapang Aier NCS, Secretary, AIR Cell, Transport Department, Polan John, NCS Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima, M Ababe Ezung OSD, Transport Department, along with other officials. 

The DIPR report stated that officials conducted a site inspection of the identified 18.8-acre plot within the ARTC&S premises before the formal handover was executed in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima, and the Secretary, AIR Cell, Transport Department.

The issue relating to transfer of the remaining areas presently under the occupation of ARTC&S for Phase-II development of Dimapur Airport, Chümoukedima, was also deliberated upon during the meeting. It was agreed that further directives from the appropriate authorities would be required for transfer of the remaining areas for Phase-II development works.
