Mokokchung, March 24 (MExN): The Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) in view of the current COVID-19 pandemic said “All worship services will continue at any cost but in the event of severity of situations, services will be held as deemed fit in the locality; preferably house service.”


ABAM on Tuesday issued guidelines for all the local churches under the aegis of ABAM as preventive measure till further notice from the Government of Nagaland for free movement.


Rev Mar Atsongchanger, Executive Secretary, ABAM in the guideline stated the following: 


•     Sunday schools and children services may continue or suspend depending on the local situation. 


•    All ABAM calendar programmes during the specified period are kept in abeyance. Programmes pertaining to local churches are also advised to conduct with proper precautions, if possible postpone. 


•     Elderly people are advised to refrain from attending the church as they are the most vulnerable as notified by the medical expert. 


•     People with any of the symptoms of COVID-19 are also advised to refrain from attending the church services for the safety of the mass. He/she is requested to attend to proper medication at the earliest 


•     People who have just returned from outside Nagaland are advised to maintain self-quarantine or avail initiatives taken by the Government or any agencies for precautions.


•     All amenities at Impur such as museum, Pilgrim's park, lodges for guests, stoppage for photography etc, are momentarily banned and dosed in an effort to enforce social distancing.
