ABAM prays for clean NLA elections

Mokokchung, January 27 (MExN): The Ao Baptist Church Association (ABAM) has appealed to all Naga intending candidates for the Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections, especially the Aos, to be “staunch in honoring and respecting Christian principles laid by our forefathers by not conforming with the political and ideological wave and trait to a party that does not guarantee an enliven future; but to take the onus to keep the Nagas free from all untoward predicaments even if proved to be oddity.” This was noted in a press statement from ABAM Executive Secretary, Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger, after “having sensed the spiritual doom of the future generation.” The ABAM, the press release noted, will “keep our hope that none of the intending candidates will bugger around with any political party that is self centered with intention to shut the freedom of religious practices and hope that no one will indulge in mal practices during the forthcoming election.” It prayed, “May God help each intending candidate to have clear vision for better Nagaland in bringing peace, justice and love to our land. May God chosen leaders emerge to lead Nagaland with better Christian disciplines.”
