Dimapur, August 10 (MExN): A two-day training programme for SHG leaders under ABTM Weaving Cooperative Society Ltd was held at Impur Mission Centre Conference Hall under Mokokchung district from August 10-11with 30 participants from various villages. The programme was implemented by ABAM Women Department, Impur, sponsored by NABARD, Dimapur Regional office, Nagaland.
The resource persons were Wangshikokla Jamir, Secretary and Aoluin, Field Coordinator of “Mulungs Women & Child Welfare Society” Diphubar, 4th Mile, Dimapur, Nagaland. The training programme was conducted to enhance the skills and capacities of the SHG leaders for efficient management and administration of SHGs. It is also aimed for the benefit of the women for poverty alleviation through savings and credit related activities through which women are expected to augment their family income as well as to bring about a radical in the social status of women and can contribute to the economic transformation of the community and the societies, informed a press note issued by secretary Temsüla Lemtur, Secretary, ABAM WD, Impur.
The note stated that the training programme covered topics on - formation, monitoring and linkages of SHGs, SHGs records - registers and book of accounts, internal micro credit financing, guided practical exercises, role play, group discussions, simulation games, observations, discussion and reflections with NGO faculties and a field visit.
