Abstain from census, FGN appeals

Oking, September 9 (MExN): The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has called on the Naga public to abstain from participating in the ongoing census exercise, stating that it is intended not for Naga nation but “counting the Indian population.”

In a notification issued on September 9, the FGN said the decision was taken during a meeting of the Council of Kilonsers. It subsequently directed the Naga general public to “abstain from enrolment” in the census drive “in the future.”
