Fazl Ali College faculty and students at Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan.

MOKOKCHUNG, OCTOBER 2 (MExN): A three-day academic and cultural exchange programme between Fazl Ali College (FAC), Mokokchung, and Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan, commenced on October 1 at Sherubtse College.
The programme, held from October 1 to 3 under the theme “Strengthening Bond Beyond Borders,” saw participation from five FAC faculty members led by Dr Adangla Changkija, Associate Professor and HOD, Department of Sociology, along with 18 students.
The exchange aims to foster cross-cultural learning, academic collaboration and mutual understanding between the two institutions, while encouraging students to become global citizens with a strong sense of regional identity.

On the first day, Sherubtse College faculty presented an overview of Bhutan’s biodiversity and highlighted the country’s pioneering efforts in maintaining carbon negativity and sustainable development. FAC faculty Dr Temjennaro delivered a presentation on NEP 2020 in the context of higher education in Nagaland. Dr Adangla Changkija discussed Nagaland’s cultural diversity and traditional practices, while Dr P Tiatemsu showcased the ethnobotanical knowledge of the Ao Naga community, linking indigenous culture with sustainable living.
The programme is designed not only as an academic visit but also as a platform to build cross-border understanding, strengthen Bhutan-India educational ties, and promote meaningful engagement between students and faculty.
