The Assisi Centre for Integrated Development in collaboration with the National Domestic Workers Movement, Nagaland Region, commemorated World Day for Decent Work on October 7.

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): The Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID), in collaboration with the National Domestic Workers Movement, Nagaland Region, commemorated World Day for Decent Work on October 7 at the Assisi Auditorium, Lake View Colony.
In her keynote address on the theme “Decent Work an Identity”, Advocate Priya Shyam highlighted International Labour Organisation (ILO) conventions and their relevance in the current context. She stressed that no job is insignificant, as every effort contributes to the functioning of communities and nations. She urged participants to assert their rights and work towards a more just and equitable society.
The event began with a prayer by Asela Sangtam, President of the All Nagaland Domestic Workers Union, followed by a welcome address from Sr Jobina, Director of ACID, who emphasised the significance of the day and the need to uphold the dignity of every worker. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Muni Dev. A total of 145 participants attended the event.
