Dimapur, May 1 (MExN): The National Domestic Workers Movement (NDWM), Nagaland Region, in collaboration with the Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID), on Friday observed ‘International Labour Day’ at Assisi Hall, Dimapur, under the theme “Ensuring a Healthy Psychosocial Working Environment.”
Advocate Priya, the keynote speaker, highlighted the importance of labour rights, stressing the need for safe working conditions and fair wages. She said workers must feel secure and respected in their workplaces.
She also elaborated on various welfare schemes available for both organised and unorganised workers, and encouraged them to carry out their responsibilities with confidence and dignity.
ACID director Jobina Varghese, in her address, underscored the significance of the theme and emphasised that no work is small or insignificant. She called for greater respect, dignity and recognition for all workers.
The programme concluded with a collective commitment by participants to uphold the rights, dignity and well-being of workers.
