ADC Mkg directs traders

Mokokchung, September 1 (DIPR): Additional Deputy Commissioner HQ & Administrator MMC, Mokokchung, Kesonyu Yhome IAS, has drawn the attention over reports from various quarters that certain traders, shopkeepers in Mokokchung Town are selling goods and products at prices higher than the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) thereby harassing and causing undue burden on the common citizens, which is a grave offence punishable under various legislations of the country including the Consumer Production Act 1986.
The MMC has viewed this matter very seriously and hence all traders under the jurisdiction of Mokokchung Municipality are hereby directed not to sell goods/ products at prices higher than the MRP with immediate effect. Any traders/ Shopkeepers found violating this direction shall be penalized without any further notice as per relevant provision of law. Further the MMC appeals to all citizens of Mokokchung Town to kindly obtain cash memos/ vouchers of such purchases and report to the MMC Office at the earliest possible time so that timely necessary action could be taken by the MMC and matter could be taken up in the appropriate form.
