Advisor Sukhalu visits Zunheboto District COVID Hospital

Zunheboto, June 17 (MExN): Advisor, School Education, KT Sukhalu visited District COVID Hospital, Zunheboto accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo to get update on the COVID situation on June 17.

According to a DIPR report, Sukhalu said that during the hour of the pandemic, it is not only the responsibility of doctors and frontline workers, but also of every citizen to follow the guidelines issued by the Government. He expressed discouragement to learn that many people believe fake messages on social media rather than the medical experts. Sukhalu called on the citizens to co-operate with the medical department and get vaccinated.

While assuring that the mobilities presented by the CMO and urgent necessities will be taken up soon, he also provided financial aid and PPE equipment to the COVID hospital.

Takes stock of two-lane construction
The Advisor held an interactive discussion hour on the ongoing two-lane construction at Zunheboto with NHIDCL, Madhucon Company, Sumi Hoho, Zunheboto two-lane construction monitoring committee and Sumi Officers’ Union, Zunheboto at DC's residence, Zunheboto.

Sumi Hoho, General Secretary, Nikheto Jimomi said that the monitoring committee has been giving its top priority by cooperating with the district administration and added that they are trying to expand the road where there are provisions.

ADC Zunheboto, Moa Longkumer said that there are 57 compensated areas where there are no problems and had been marked but most of the areas are left uncompensated and as such, the NGOs have been convincing those area owners.

District Statistical officer and President, Sumi Officers' Union Zunheboto, Lhokiye Yepthomi said that with the sincere cooperation from all ends, the vision of seeing a developed Zunheboto could be achieved.

Sukhalu lamented at the road connectivity of Zunheboto and said that the two-lane project needs to be completed without any hindrance. He also donated rupees two lakh to the Zunheboto two-lane Construction Monitoring Committee to cover expenses while inspecting and checking the status of the road.
