Advisor Zhaleo Rio lauds stakeholder cooperation during monsoon challenges

CHUMOUKEDIMA, OCTOBER 10 (MExN): The Chümoukedima District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) held its October meeting at the DC Conference Hall on October 10. The meeting was chaired by Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs and DPDB Chairman, Zhaleo Rio.

In his address, Rio welcomed members and acknowledged the challenges posed by the recent prolonged monsoon, which caused significant damage to infrastructure, roads, agriculture, and livelihoods. He appreciated the cooperation of district administration and stakeholders in managing the monsoon’s impact and urged continued support for preparedness in the coming days.

The board began with a review of the previous meeting and deliberated on the day’s agenda. Several proposals were approved for recommendation, including matters related to the Nagaland State Pedal Association, Chümoukedima Two-Wheelers Taxi Association, introduction of multi-disciplinary courses and commerce stream at GHSS Singrijan, construction of the Excise Department Office in Chümoukedima, and the renaming of Sirhi Angami Village to Medzhiphema ‘A’ Village.

A PowerPoint presentation was delivered by District Agriculture Officer Moainla Pongen, highlighting various schemes and activities under Chumoukedima District, including RKVY (Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana), Rain Fed Area Development (RAD), SMAM (Sub-Mission on Agriculture Mechanization), Per Drop More Crop (POMIC), Krishonnati Yojana (KY), ATMA (Agriculture Extension), NFSNM (National Food Security & Nutrition Mission), NMEO-OS (National Mission on Edible Oil–Oil Seed), NMEO-OP (National Mission on Edible Oil–Oil Palm), MOVCD-NER (Mission Organic Value Chain Development for NER), and PM-KISAN.
