Advocacy programme on HIV and AIDS held at Chenwetnyu

Dimapur, July 10 (MExN): Advocacy programme on HIV and AIDS was held at Chenwetnyu. The Advocacy programme on HIV and AIDS with key stakeholders under Chen sub division was organized by Longsho-ho Youth Alive Mission (LYAM), Chen with support from Legislators Forum on AIDS, Nagaland on July 9 at Chenwetnyu where L.Yamao, BDO, Chen graced the occasion as chief guest (in place of C.L.John, MLA and Chairman, Marcofed, Nagaland).
While addressing on the theme 'Lets join hands to save life', L.Yamao had strongly stated that there is no medicine to cure HIV and therefore asked everyone to be well equip with knowledge and take prevention which is the only and the best weapon to fight against HIV epidemic. He further added that we should not discriminate those who are living with HIV, but to show love and care for them. Besides short speech by Guest of Honour, Lungheising, SDO(C), other resource persons in the programme include Aton Wangnao, Director, LYAM, Chongyin Yinlunghu, Director, Turning Point Organization and Longyim Tzudir, DPO(DAPCU),Mon. The one day advocacy programme was attended by more than 100 key stakeholders out of which around 80 have voluntarily go for HIV test (ICTC Mobile). During the short group discussion, the house made a pledge that they will initiate such advocacy programme on HIV and AIDS at their own level. The meeting was chaired by Wangwan and concluded with vote of thanks by P.M. Nockpai, President, Konyak Village Council, Mon. Longyim Tzudir, DPO (DAPCU), Mon.
