Dimapur, November 20 (MExN): A programme on distribution of ‘Aerobio’ complete human waste management solution, blue & green waste bins and flag-off of road sweeper vehicles was held at Aerobio Manufacturing Unit, Thilixu Atosa, Dimapur on November 19. Aerobio and waste bins were distributed to all the ULBs under Dimapur district, stated a DIPR report.

Advisor, Municipal Affairs and Urban Development, Dr Neikiesalie Kire in his address mentioned that the use of Aerobio properly will bring a change in the society and the change should start within us and stated his appreciation to the Municipal team. Dr Kire also flagged off the road sweeper vehicles during the event.

Presentation on Aerobio was conducted by Proprietor, Aerobio Production Unit, Watinuksung Jamir. He mentioned that Aerobio is an indigenous formulation consisting of novel bacterial consortia. Aerobio can completely breakdown human faeces and rapidly make an environment foul odour free. It can metabolize complex forms of substrates that constitute the faeces aerobically, Aerobio is made up of bacteria isolated indigenously, can work across a range of temperature and there is no production of methane gas. Aerobio does not alter the biological communities when applied in an environment, and Aerobio are non-pathogenic, he also mentioned that Aerobio eliminates the odour and harmful causing agents completely and no methane gas is generated. Sludge will be reduced by Aerobic.

The end result will be CO2 and water and the water will be sub-neutral to neutral pH and can be recycled for multiple uses. It eliminates periodical sewage tank evacuation & control over ground water contamination and ensures clean and safe drinking.

Speech on usage of blue & green waste bins was given by Jt Director, DMA, Temjenrenla Kechü. She mentioned about solid waste management which consists of three categories, namely biodegradable, recyclable and inert waste. The blue bin is for dry waste and green bin for wet waste. The proper utilisation of it can improve waste problem up to 60-70%. She encouraged the usage of blue and green bins and a proper dumping site for inert waste, it added.
