Dimapur, June 12 (MExN): Following the CANSSEA state-wide tour during March 19 to May 2, the central office bearers had an interaction with the Accountant General and the Deputy Accountant General of Nagaland on June 11. A press release issued by CANSSEA, President, Dr K. David Sema and General Secretary, Vekho Vero stated that a threadbare discussion was held to address the problems of the employees including retirees of the State.
The problems pertaining to issuance of pay slip, GPF statements including incorporation of missing credits, settling pension cases and the new pension act (PFRDA) of deducting and depositing the 10% of the employees’ salaries by government with matching grants were discussed.
During the interaction, the AG apprised the CANSSEA team of their working strategies, commitment of prompt service, maintenance of transparency, integrity and the like in its performances. They also told that, to attend to the queries of the employees, they have opened one Public Relation Cell which has been functional on every Wednesday. In addition, they have conducted seminars at intervals and issued instructions to the departments and employees both in HoD and district levels to furnish correct information while processing pension papers. They said that in spite of such forward steps, not much response was received.
The CANSSEA also told them of the many instances of frustration experienced by the employees over undue delay of work disposal in respect to the pension clearance, issue of pay slips etc. They were also informed that admission of only one Nodal Officer per department in office of AG also led to expectation of tips from the applicants by most of the Nodal Officers. In the process of interaction that followed, it was realized that the office of the AG and the HoDs of the concerned employees needs to be more sensible, responsive and supportive to each other’s needs towards ensuring speedy delivery of services.
The press release also added that discussion was quite interesting given the fact that all were found dedicated for the service of the employees. The meeting concluded with decision of both parties to interact further in near future and also assist each other with clearer vision and more transparency.
