Agenda to dislodge peace process says NSCN (IM)

DIMAPUR, JULY 22 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has once again cautioned the Naga public not to be misled by what it said was the propaganda campaign of the NSCN (K). “The Nagas should clearly understand that their agenda is only to dislodge the peace process for a solution to our long standing Indo-Naga political conflict and nothing else but their illusive nationalism”, an MIP press communiqué titled ‘The Mulatonu Syndrome’ has stated.

Reminding that the Collective Leadership had already asserted that sovereignty belongs to the Naga people, the NSCN (IM) stated that that the Naga issue will be decided with the consultation and consent of all the Naga people.

“Know that the NSCN will under no circumstances betray the Nagas by surrendering to India our rights”, it stated while pointing out that it will never seek economic packages, autonomous council, rehabilitation or anything else other then restoring the rights as a free integrated and independent people.

As for the controversial Naga inhabited area (NIA) proposal, the NSCN (IM) stated that the NIA was drafted by an Indian agency called the Indian Center for Policy Research and Analysis (ICPRA) and alleged that this was aimed to sow distrust, suspicion and disunity within the Naga family.

Responding to NSCN (K) leader K. Mulatonu’s press statements appearing in the local dailies, the NSCN (IM) stated that the former was illogically issuing false defamations on responsible figures and propagating fictitious allegations and discourtesies upon Naga leaders, international friends, Naga Hoho, Naga Mothers Association, Naga Students Federation, Nagaland Baptist Church Council, Council of Nagaland Baptist Churches, All Naga Students Association Manipur, United Naga Council, Naga Democratic Movement of Myanmar, besides intellectuals and all other Church bodies across ‘Nagalim’.

The NSCN (IM) alleged that the NSCN (K) and the NNC members were tools of the Government of India’s agencies “to stigmatize and subdue the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks and that the Nagas cannot be swayed by false and shameless accusations. “The Khaplang group’s illusion to be representing the Nagas is the greatest lie of the 21st Century”, the NSCN (IM) stated in a lengthy six page press communiqué.
