Dimapur, March 2 (MExN): The officer’s and staff of the Department of Agriculture, Kohima under the chairmanship of A.Y. Ovung, Director of Agriculture bid farewell to Z. Kikon, Addl. Director of Agriculture on March 1. A press note issued by the Director said Kikon was responsible for introducing mushroom for the first time in the State, establishment of the local area network and IT literacy programme for the officers and staff in the department, exceptional organizational skills especially the North-East Agri Expo 2006, 2010. The Director in his farewell speech lauded the outgoing officer for his outstanding contributions, strong determination and commitment in completing any kind of works assigned to him and stated that his absence would be felt greatly. Many officer and staff also expressed their sincere appreciation to the outgoing officer for his excellent contribution during his tenure. “A man admired and appreciated for his capabilities, creativity and innovations and friendly nature, active with good leadership quality and a man for all seasons. The department will always cherish his contributions to the farming community of the State,” the Director further added.
