DIMAPUR, AUGUST 6 (MExN): AIDA-SBI Gram Seva Dimapur conducted its 1st phase of Community Leaders’ Orientation training on August 5.

ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), Don Bosco, in collaboration with the SBI FoundationMumbai, has been implementing the SBI Gram Seva programme in Chumoukedima district for the last three years. 

The SBI Gram Seva programme focuses on 10 key areas which includes digitalization of villages, promotion of quality education for rural students, improvement of primary health services, accessibility to safe drinking water and sanitation, sustainable livelihood practices, empowerment of rural women and youth engagement, environmental protection, enhancement of rural infrastructure for better access to basic services, improved coverage of government schemes, and capacity building for participatory rural development.

Since its inception on October 2, 2020, the AIDA-SBI Gram Seva programme has been dedicatedly working on integrated livelihood and rural infrastructure development in the five adopted villages of Chumoukedima district. The programme is designed for a three-year direct implementation after which it will be handed over to the villages to continue. As part of the capacity building of handing over the project, the first phase of orientation training of the community leaders on their roles & responsibilities and enabling them to sustain further developments was held at AIDA on August 5. 

A total of 45 community leaders from the five adopted villages actively participated in the training programme. The training session was conducted by Rev Fr Roy George SDB, Executive Director of AIDA, Dimapur, and M Yimok Phom, ADPM, NSRLM, from the Department of Rural Development, Government of Nagaland.

The AIDA and the AIDA-SBI Gram Seva team expressed its gratitude to SBI Foundation Mumbai for its unwavering support in driving these transformative initiatives for the welfare of rural communities.
