Kohima, March 4 (MExN): The Angami Krotho Delhi (AKD) celebrated its 37th Sekrenyi Festival on February 28 at Nagaland House, New Delhi.
Open Kene (Traditional Naga Wrestling) competition also marked the celebration.
The Open Kene Competition witnessed participants from Angami, Chakhesang and Poumai tribe.
Veytelou from Poumai tribe emerged the champion title while Sheluhu Khesoh and Shedekho Hoshi from Chakhesang tribe bagged the second and third position respectively.
Vishezotuo Yano from Angami tribe stood 4th position.
In addition to the prize sponsored by Angami Sports Association and Dzükou Valley Management, Dr. Hentok Phom and Er. Hutovi donated Rs. 5000 each to encourage the wrestlers.
Earlier, AKD president Pelhu Dolie asked Angami community in Delhi and NCR to get register with AKD.
Pastor Ruokuowhelie Pienyü, Upper Naga Bazaar Baptist Church, Kohima exhorted the gathering.
AKD general secretary Neingumezo Khrodi thanked the Office of Nagaland House and the staff for their continued support, and also to various donors who made the event possible.
