The All Kohima Indane Distributor's Association (AKIDA) President Kuolachalie Seyie today said the Association will go ahead with its indefinite strike which entered its eighth day today.
Talking to The Morung Express, Seyie clarified that the Association did not agree to call off their strike during the joint meeting with Association of Kohima Municipal Wards Panchayat (AKMWP) held here today. He maintained that AKIDA will go ahead with indefinite bandh of all LPG showrooms and LP service till their grievance is addressed.
He also said that the Association will be meeting DGP Nagaland and Chief Secretary Nagaland soon.
Earlier on Monday, the AKMWP had a joint meeting with AKIDA and the Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho (AMK) and deliberated on AKIDA’s indefinite bandh which was called in protest against the reported assault on its employees.
A release received from AKMWP stated that AKIDA is of the opinion that, while trying to give their best service to the consumers of LPG subscribers in and around Kohima municipalities, they have to overcome many hurdles in the form of demands, extortions and physical assault to their employees.
Despite several complaints and reports to concerned “enforcement” authority, no concrete action was taken till date, it said.
“Therefore, AKMWP after hearing AKIDA's predicament, urged the Government enforcement agencies to speed up the investigation in earnest and bring about a redressal at the earliest possible time frame,” the release stated.
While urging the concern government enforcement agencies to act fast to boost the morale of AKIDA, and taking into consideration of AMK's concern and hardship faced by all managers of every kitchen, AKMWP appealed AKIDA to resume its distribution.
