Dimapur, February 20 (DIPR): Parliamentary Secretary for Prisons, Home Guards, Fire & Emergency Services W. Kithan inaugurated the newly upgraded Government High School at Akuk village of Wokha district on February 17 as the chief guest.
Delivering his inaugural speech the chief guest citing the examples of some successful persons of Akuk such as Lt. Mhondamo Kithan, first Nagaland Education Minister and first Lotha Graduate, Lt. Dr. Anthony Patton, former Controller of Examination of NEHU and first Naga Ph.D. in Economics, Dr. Paul Kimomo Humtsoe serving as English Head of Department in Central Washington University (USA), Mhatung Kithan, IAS for which the chief guest lauded and commended them as very hardworking and disciplined persons from Akuk village. W. Kithan encouraged the people to take advantage of the newly upgraded GHS in the village by maintaining habit of hard work and disciplined life so that every second person can be the great man of tomorrow. K. Phesao, Joint Director, School Education represented the department during the inaugural function of newly upgraded GHS Akuk. ADC Bhandari A. Robin Lotha, SDO (C) Sanis and ADC designate Orenthung Lotha both urged the village people to take care and maintain love and sympathy with students who come to study from neighbouring villages as the school is a feeder school. DEO Wokha Nzinimo Odyuo, DIS Bhandari Marius Yanthan, in their speeches said that the newly upgraded high school in the village is a most deserving case in Wokha district.
