Kohima, June 16 (MExN): Ferrando Domestic Workers’ Alliance (FDWA) Kohima in collaboration with Centre for Development Initiatives (CDI), Guwahati observed International Domestic Workers’ Day in Kohima on June 16.
FDWA Kohima in a press release stated that addressing the gathering, Juliana Medom, Assistant Coordinator, State Resource Centre for Women, asked domestic workers to practice dignity of labour. She said that all kind of honest work should be equally respected and urged the gathering to “give more professionalism and dedication to their job and be faithful to their employer.”
Sr Theresa Langhu, outgoing city coordinator of FDWA Kohima on June 16 the International Domestic Workers’ Day is also observed every year in the entire NE region and in Nagaland state.
Special songs were presented by Hesheni group, Theresa group FDWA Kohima staffs and Mashine. Agnes Kezo, field staff, FDWA Kohima chaired the programme; Sr Mariam, superior, St Mary's Convent, Kohima invoked God's blessings while TS Joysee, domestic worker delivered the welcome note.
