Zunheboto, December 9 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming assembly election in the state, Zunheboto SP, Vishal Chouhan, IPS has stated that all polling stations will be mandatorily covered by CCTV to avoid any anomalies in the election process.
‘Stern action will be taken against any government officials who are found campaigning or participating in any political party,’ the SP cautioned during the Zunheboto District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting held on December 9.
As per a DIPR report, in his introductory remark, the SP stated that election process should be celebration rather than battlefield. To have a peaceful election, he said, they will need the help of everyone and requested the cooperation of the public.
Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, Zunheboto DPDB, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS in his opening remark stated that since election is near, the administration has started enlightening the GB Federation, Sumi Hoho, Sumi Totimi Hoho and various organisations about how to conduct violence free and fair election.
The DC asked the DPDB members to play their own part to ensure a fair election without any violence.
Meanwhile, he cautioned that “anybody found forcing anyone to vote for any party or any personal will be strictly dealt with by the Election Commission.”
The DC added that to conduct fair and violence free election, the administration has started seizure of alcohol and various abusive substances at various locations.
