All regular passenger train services to remain suspended

Maligaon, August 12 (MExN):  In continuation of the measures taken in the wake of COVID-19, the CPRO of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), Subhanan Chanda has informed that all regular passenger train services on Indian Railways including Premium trains, Mail/Express trains, Passenger trains services, Narrow gauge trains etc will remain cancelled until further advice.

Accordingly, all regular passenger carrying trains originating from and coming towards NFR will also remain cancelled. 

Running of Shramik Special trains and other passenger special trains for movement of the stranded and other people will however continue, he added.

Moreover, to ensure uninterrupted supplies of the essential commodities both for common people and various industries spreading throughout the country, movement of freight, parcel and POL carrying trains will continue.

The occupancy of special trains is being monitored on regular basis and additional special trains may be run based on the requirement, the CPRO said.

He further informed that in NFR area, 2 Rajdhani Special trains and 6 other passenger special trains are presently under operation connecting cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Amritsar and Kolkata to cater to the requirement of people who are in need of urgent travel.
