Dimapur, May 20 (MExN): Responding to the news item “Principal of PGC abused: PGCTA” published in a local daily on May 20, Dr. K. Hoshi, Phek Town has issued a rejoinder to clear the cloud of doubt in the minds of the readers.
According to Dr. K. Hoshi, he met the Principal in his office on May 11 where he was directed to come back on May 13. “On that day I waited from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM with all humility only to be told at the end that he couldn’t help me. It is true that he didn’t give me assurance on May 11 but he gave me false hope when he asked me to come back on May 13. I went to his residence on May 15 and pleaded with him for my son as any other father would for his helpless child. I only made a strong point of my case. But if he thinks otherwise, he could have lodged a formal complaint (FIR) against me the same night or the next day,” the Dr. stated.
Dr. Hoshi said that the allegation of scolding is “very childish unbecoming of a responsible officer of his stature and the allegations of intimidation and warning of serious consequences are serious allegations of criminal nature. There are sufficient sections of penal law to handle this kind of allegations. The law will take its own course of action if I’m found guilty. I have not run away from the reach of the law.”
Dr. Hoshi also expressed it is very unfortunate that instead of seeking justice within the provisions of law the innocent students were victimized for no fault of theirs’ by taking his name. Further, he stated that by going to the print media which otherwise could have been settled amicably, the principal had premeditated intention to malign Dr. Hoshi’s name, tarnish his image and damage his career in politics knowing fully well that public image is the most important asset for a politician. “My request was turned down and on top of that, serious allegations have been leveled against me in the print media to tarnish my public image. This is something like rubbing the proverbial salt on the wound. I have been pushed against the wall. I think this is going a little too far. He should prove me guilty in appropriate court of law instead of taking law into his own hand. I have the right to defend myself. But if he fails to do that, he should tender a publish apology for the harm that he had caused to my public image.”
