Alleged sexual harassment under scanner in Kohima

Morung Express News

A reportedly “compromised” sexual harassment case is now under the scanner in Kohima. While it could not be officially corroborated with the police, reliable sources said that it involved a girl in her teens, who was allegedly sexually harassed by an active member of a prominent church in the state capital. Both are said to be members of the same church. The sources said that the case was brought to the notice of the police after families of the supposed harasser and victim arrived at a compromise, deciding not to file any formal charges. The accused, described as an ‘active’ church volunteer in his 40s, was subsequently reportedly detained after the police was notified. The Kohima police could not be reached for corroboration.
