Kiphire, Dec 10 (MExN): “The Dissolution of United Sanftam Likhum Bumji (USLB) by United Sangtam Region (USR) NSCN (IM) was invalid and unacceptable to the Sangtam community”.
The Amahator village students union (AVSU) has strongly rejected the dissolution of the USLB by NSCN (IM) of USR issued by Y. Vitoshe which also appeared in some local dailies on November 25. The union has termed the dissolution as undemocratic and unconstitutional also. “USLB is the apex body of the Sangtam Community and cannot be dissolved without the consent of all the USLB leaders and general public as the USLB leaders were elected by the mandate of the general public of the Sangtams”, stated a press release issued by Former President, AVSU.
He further opined that the strengthening of any community cannot be achieved through dissolution but through mutual cooperation and understanding. He pointed out that instead of dissolving the USLB; the USR NSCN (IM) should contribute and support to re-strengthen the USLB.
The release stated that the AVSU has never accepted the wrong declaration of the Dissolution Order rather reaffirmed to struggle the solidarity of the USLB. While rebuffing the dissolution, he also mentioned that the USLB was organized by the Sangtam community and has its own responsibilities and functions and work towards the welfare of the Sangtam community.
The union also urged all right thinking citizens to raise their voices against such wrong declaration which was unacceptable to the Naga civil societies.
