DIMAPUR : The 3rd Medical Camp got underway with its inauguration on August 9 at Lempong Convention Hall at Phom Baptist Christian Association, by the Honorable Home Minister of Nagaland Thenucho along with three Parliamentary Secretaries, the Deputy Commissioner, Departmental Heads as well as other distinguished personalities of the society.
The camp also saw a host of public heads, church leaders and staffs of Nagaland Development Outreach (NDO) and Medical Ministry International (MMI). A group of Naga Doctors from Wokha and Kohima assisted the American Team in their work.
The Home Minister in his inaugural speech thanked the American team for showing concern for the people of Nagaland and wished that this kind of humanitarian activities would continue in the days to come to reignite the deep bond between the Naga people and Americans.
Speaking on the occasion, Lima Jamir, Chairman NDO, also thanked the MMI for their commitment and efforts made for the people of Nagaland. He also stated that the healing ministry had intervened at a time when the Nagas were starved of physical healing.
The Chairman especially thanked the Phom Baptist Christian Association for providing accommodation to all the members and also expressed gratitude to public leaders, business community for enabling them to host the occasion.
It may be mentioned that about 300 patients were given treatment after the inaugural function. Earlier, before the function, the Longleng Hospital New Operation Theatre was jointly inaugurated by the Honorable Home Minister of Nagaland Thenucho and Dr. Obregon, Director MMI.
