Kohima, July 9 (MExN): A joint meeting of Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho (AMK), Angami Youth Organization (AYO) and Angami Students’ Union (ASU) was held on July 6 last at ASU office.
The meeting deliberated on various issues concerning the environment of Kohima town. The meeting felt that immediate attention should be given to sanitation and beautification of the capital town. The meeting resolved to urge the government and the municipal council to immediately carry out the task that has been assigned to them.
It was also felt that the government should provide dumping trucks/vehicles to all the wards for waste management as well as provide more cesspool trucks. While expressing its appreciation to some of the colony leaders for their endeavor to promote civic sense among the resident of the colonies, the meeting appealed to every citizen to cooperate in keeping the town clean and beautiful. The joint meeting further expressed its appreciation to the Nagaland police personnel at Peducha for being able to seized contraband at the check gate from time to time.
The three frontal organizations urged them to keep their good work and further intensify their checking. It was also felt that destruction/disposal of the seized contraband should be done in the presence of the administration and members of the civil society.
