Dimapur, July 3 (MExN): Anand Chetri of Gorkha Baptist Church Full Nagarjan was declared as the winner of Nepali Gospel Voice Hunt Season-V singing competition organised by the Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima Youth Department on July 3. 

Priya Thapa of Gorkha Baptist Church DTNBC, Duncan won the second prize while Prem Mizar of Nepali Baptist Church New Medziphema was third.  There were 6 finalists during the one-day competition.

Held under the theme,  ‘Praise His Name,’ the event was organised with a focus to inspire, enrich, and motivate the Christian Gorkha youths under the Association of the Gorkha Baptist Churches of Nagaland (AGBCN) both spiritually and musically, a press release informed. 

This was the fifth time the NBC Chümoukedima Youth Department took initiative of organising singing competition for Christian Gorkha singers of Nagaland, it said. 

Gracing the event, Pastor of Nagamese Baptist Fellowship Chümoukedima Village shared on music plays an important role in the life of youth and encouraged each participant to glorify Lord with their God given talents, the release informed. 

He further encouraged the youth to have the spirit and passion of dignity of labour, it said. 

The voice hunt included special performance by Alika, winner of Voice Hunt Season-IV while the prize money was sponsored by Bishal Limbu, Preity Gurung, and Maya Bardewa, it added.
