The All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG) - 2015 batch has reminded that the group has “temporarily suspended” its ongoing protest demanding regularisation of services after receiving written assurances from the Department of School Education, Nagaland.
In a communiqué addressed to the Principal Director of School Education on February 23, the group stated that the decision to put the agitation on hold was taken during a general meeting held on February 20 and 21 at the premises of the Directorate of School Education in Kohima.
The protest, which was initiated on February 4, 2026, has been suspended with effect from February 21, it stated.
The statement issued by ANATG-2025 Convenor Temsuchiba Aier and Secretary Lhovito Sheqi stated that the decision was taken after the group acknowledged and welcomed the department’s written assurance to work out an alternative solution to address issues related to incomplete documentation.
The department has also assured that a special officer or team will be deputed exclusively to examine the case of ANATG and facilitate the submission and verification of additional documents. This assurance was conveyed through an official communication dated February 19, 2026.
After prolonged deliberations and placing good faith in the authority concerned, the Core Committee of the group decided to temporarily suspend the protest, subject to certain conditions. Among these was the government’s decision, communicated on February 13, 2026, to include the deputation of ten ANATG members to assist the department in documentation and sorting of records.
The ANATG also reminded the department’s earlier assurance, conveyed through official correspondence on February 12, that the legitimate demands of the ANATG-2015 are under active consideration and that steps have already been initiated to address them. The group has asserted that the prioritization of its members must be reflected both in letter and in spirit.
Further, the Core Committee stated that all alternative arrangements, procedures and processes for the regularisation of ANATG-2015 members must be completed on or before June 30, 2026.
The group has cautioned that failure to resolve the long-pending regularisation issue within the stipulated timeframe would compel the members to resume its democratic protest in a more intensified manner.
