Phek, October 3 (MExN): The Anchored Choir from Phek Town Baptist Church was declared winner of the Phek District Ultimate Choral Competition held at Phek Town Hall on September 30. The choir competition was organised by the Phek District Music and Arts Society in collaboration with Phek Town Baptist Church Youth Department under the guidance of TaFMA, Government of Nagaland.

A press release received here stated that the event witnessed eight choirs from different churches vying for the top position. Pfutsero Town Baptist Church Choir and Blended Harmony Choir, Pfutsero were adjudged first runners up and second runners up respectively. The Best Conductor was awarded to Thujosayi Dozo of Anchored Choir.

Theja Meru, Advisor TaFMA graced the event as guest of honour. He exhorted the competing choirs and audiences to dream big, as it is the starting point of achieving something great and to take pride in what one does. Colored Keys performed their hit ‘Warriors Call’ and two more originals. The Nagaland Choral Directors Association team were the judge of the competition. 

The first prize was sponsored by Azo Nienu MLA, NLA, second and third prize were sponsored by Live Sound Music Store, Dimapur and Tejo Weaves Kohima and the Best Conductor prize was sponsored by Veseta Rhakho.
