Ang Mai-led NSCN (K) reaffirms to carry forward Khaplang’s legacy

Dimapur, June 5 (MExN): The collective leadership of NSCN, led by Chairman Major General (Retired) Ang Mai, Vice-chairman Nyeiton Konyak, and General Secretary Kughalu Mulatonu, has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to carry forward the late SS Khaplang's legacy and the 'principles of the People's Republic of Nagaland.'

The affirmation was made in commemoration of the 7th death anniversary of the 'founding member and father' of NSCN (K), late Khaplang, which falls on June 9, as informed a press statement received here from the MIP Secretary of Ang Mai-led NSCN (K).

"The principles of 'self-sufficiency, socialism, and Nagaland for Christ' championed by the late SS Khaplang and his comrades, late Isak Chishi Swu and Th Muivah, will remain the cornerstone and footstool of the NSCN/GPRN," it stated.

The release further maintained that the "undying spirit of a unified Naga revolution and nationalism" envisioned by late Khaplang can only come through forgiveness, dialogue, and the rejection of fratricide.

To this end, the Ang Mai-led NSCN (K) will continue to uphold the Christian Socialist values of "forgive and forget" and "Nagaland for Christ" in keeping with late Khaplang's principles, it maintained.

The NSCN endorses free and fair dialogue, establishes friendly and sympathetic relations, and strives for peace and unity among the Nagas, it added.

The Ang Mai-led NSCN (K) maintained that it was due to late Khaplang's vigilance and sacrifices that all files and orders of General Headquarters (GHQ) were secured since the era of NNC to NSCN Naga Army.

On his death anniversary, NSCN calls upon well-wishers from far and near and the Nagas to honour the memory of late Khaplang and his immense contributions, it said.

"We urge all walks of life to continue supporting his visionary ideals for the Nagas," it added.
