The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) HQ Kohima honoured the children of ANTA drivers who secured first division in the HSLC and HSSLC Examinations 2026.

At a felicitation programme held at ISBT Kohima on May 9, 39 students who secured first division in the HSLC examination and 15 in the HSSLC examination were presented certificates and cash awards.

Speaking as the special guest, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) councillor Thejavizo Solo said the occasion was not only about academic success but also a celebration of hard work, sacrifice, determination and dreams fulfilled.

He said taxi drivers work tirelessly day and night, through traffic, rain and difficult conditions, to provide education and a better future for their children. “Their sacrifices, patience and commitment deserve our highest respect and appreciation,” he said.

Stating that the HSLC and HSSLC examinations are important milestones in life, Solo said they are only the beginning of a greater journey ahead. He encouraged the students to continue working hard and never stop believing in themselves.

He also lauded ANTA for organising the programme to encourage young minds and recognise the achievements of children from hardworking families.

“This felicitation ceremony is more than just giving awards or certificates. It is about giving motivation, confidence and hope to these students so that they continue to dream bigger and aim higher in life,” he said.

Solo further said that the initiative had strengthened unity within the community and reminded everyone that supporting and appreciating one another would help create a brighter future for the next generation.

ANTA HQ Kohima General Secretary Elho Kin also delivered a short speech, while A Alise Sangtam spoke on behalf of the parents.

The felicitation of the successful candidates was led by Victor Rutsa. Property Secretary of ANTA HQ Kohima Qheheto Achumi invoked God’s blessings. The programme was chaired by Avilie Kire, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Finance Secretary Aphrelie Suokhrie.
