Ao Senden not to be part of new tribal council

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 6 (MExN): In response to the formation and launching of Central Nagaland Tribal Council at HQ. Dimapur on December 8, 2012 the Ao Senden after a thorough deliberations on the proposition for official launching of the organisation, felt that “being the apex body of the traditional body which is a constituent member of the larger traditional apex body i.e., the Naga Hoho, it may not be very conducive for now to be a part of new body/ organisation/ forum”.

The Ao Senden in a press note received here also expressed the view that the present situation in Nagaland “polarization of organization, factionalism on one hand, while unity and reconciliation is desired by all”. “Therefore, we feel that whatever weaknesses exist among existing groups and organisations should be corrected and strengthen them for the interest of all”, stated the press note issued by Dr. Sangyu Yaden President and Tsupong Longchar General Secretary.

The press note nevertheless cited that there is “also standing resolution of the Ao Senden that different units under the Ao Senden may have cordial relationship and partnership with any other such bodies which works for the unity and development of our society”. At the same time, the Ao Senden stated that it has never been informed of forming and launching of Central Nagaland Tribal Council at HQ. Dimapur. The Ao Senden once again reiterated that it is not conducive for now to be a part of new forum/council.
