AOF committed to less privileged children

Dimapur, September 13 (MExN): In line with its commitment of providing a better life for the less privileged children Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF), the corporate social responsibility arm of Amway India presented annual educational aid for the children of Ebenezer Orphanage Home in Dimapur. Ebenezer Orphanage Home is AOF’s partner under Project Sunrise- an initiative aimed at the betterment of underprivileged children. This donation marks 3rd year of partnership with Ebenezer Orphanage Home under Project Sunrise.
At a formal function, here today, Lima Jamir, Associate Pastor, Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo, Bickramjit Paul, Area Manager, Northeast, Amway India and a volunteer for Amway Opportunity Foundation handed over the annual educational aid under Project Sunrise a cheque amounting to Rs 1.30 lakh on education to Akum Amri, Founder Director, Ebenezer Orphanage Home. Amway Distributors and AOF volunteers also supported the occasion.
Akum Amri from Ebenezer Orphanage expressed appreciation of Amway’s gesture. The children of Ebenezer Orphanage Home also enthralled the audience with a cultural programme.
AOF had rolled out Project Sunrise in Dimapur in 2009 and announced its partnership with Ebenezer Orphanage Home. To mark the beginning, AOF set up a computer centre. AOF had also undertaken annual health check up cost for all children of the orphanage and donated water purifiers to the Ebenezer Orphanage Home. AOF had also supported with Library racks and almirahs for the students.
Amway Opportunity Foundation has also celebrated Children’s Day and AOF Day with the children of Ebenezer Orphanage Home.
Commenting on the initiative, Bickramjit Paul, said, The annual educational aid to the children of Ebenezer Orphanage Home is the sequel to our ongoing support for the children in health, education and access to safe drinking water under project sunrise that we undertook in 2009.The aim behind Project Sunrise is to work in partnership with the NGOs and orphanages to ensure a bright future for the less privileged children and help them become economically self reliant. At Amway we always strive to bring in meaningful difference in the lives of less privileged children. We would be very happy if our little contribution helps in the progress of children.
Ebenezer Orphanage Home had been set up by Mr. Akum Amri, Founder Director in 2005 to provide a refuge to the children bereft of their parents and near and dear ones. The orphanage provides educational facilities and healthcare service to around 25 children and introduces them to the mainstream life helping them become self reliant.
