APO calls for support towards NBCC Platinum Jubilee

DIMAPUR, APRIL 14 (MExN): The Angami Public Organisation (APO) has expressed delight that the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) is going to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee from 19th to 22nd of April 2012 at NBCC Convention Centre, Kohima. “It is evident that the NBCC and the Naga Church Leaders are giving their best and all it takes to make this occasion the grandest of success with the participation of Christians from all over Nagaland, besides having enlightened personalities and Church Leaders from around the Globe”, stated a press note from K. Neingunyu Sekhose and Vipopal Kintso, President and General Secretary respectively of the APO.

Pointing out that in such auspicious and glorious occasion it was felt befitting that all citizens of Nagaland, be it Christians or non-Christians, support and co-operate, as such the APO has made an appeal towards this. The APO has also decided to co-operate and support with whatever logistic support possible within its means to mark and celebrate the occasion. Also, towards this endeavour the APO appealed to the general public on the following points:-

1.    To the denizen of Kohima to contribute in making Kohima clean and more beautiful.

2.    To the Drivers and Vehicle owners to be more disciplined and conscious of the rules.

3.    To the proprietors/owners to remove all materials that are hindrances and encroach on the public roads and space. In this regard, as the Kohima District Administration had also notified, the APO will cooperate with the authority to take whatever necessary action.

4.    To the govt. and all its agencies/depts. particularly the depts. dealing with public civic amenities like PHED, Power, KMC ...etc. to cooperate and facilitate the requirements.

5.    To various Naga Political Organisations/undergrounds not to create any unwanted situation or incident. In this regard too, as the APO had earlier appealed again and again, in the event of any incident the APO will take strong exception to the organisation whose member(s) are established to be perpetrator(s) or instigator(s).

While at this, the APO felt that, when such occasion is celebrated marking the event of Christianity in Nagaland, in the true spirit of Christianity and the accepted concept of “Nagaland for Christ” all Warring Naga Political Groups should reconcile and come together to cohesively work towards the Naga Political Aspiration.
