Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): In a move aimed at strengthening livestock farming and digital livestock extension services in the Northeast, the mobile application ‘CAU-(I) PASHU SATHI’ was launched during the 8th College Extension Advisory Committee (CEAC) meeting held at the College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, under the Central Agricultural University on May 8.
The application was launched by Dr Sunil Nayak, Director of Extension Services, Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, and Dr B P Singh, Principal Scientist and Head, DTAC, ICAR Research Complex for North Eastern Hill Region, in the presence of Dr I Shakuntala, Dean of the College.
According to a press release, the “CAU-(I) PASHU SATHI” app has been designed as a digital support platform for piggery and poultry farmers in the Northeast, with particular emphasis on farming communities in Nagaland.
The initiative seeks to provide scientific livestock management practices, disease prevention guidance, nutrition-related information, and improved access to veterinary advisory services through a user-friendly digital interface.
The project team involved in developing the application includes Dr Gunjan Das, Dr Imtiwati, Dr Bhabesh Mili and Gaurav Kishor Saxena.
