Through this press communiqué, I the undersigned would like to bring to the notice of all concerned that Burma Camp junction being the busiest road and intersection in Dimapur Sadar connecting National Highway and State link road. Due to its’ increase of population as well as increase of vehicles and commuters, also shifting of business center in the area, pedestrian especially students and general public of nearby colony finds difficult to cross the road in the peak hour due to its traffic on connecting highway with colony approach road.

In many occasion at Burma Camp junction several of mishaps occur in the busy hour un-accounted. Whereas, according to the annual administrative report 2021-2022 of the state’s Transport Department,  Nagaland reported 923 road accidents with 56 fatalities and 430 injuries between January 2021 to December 2021.

As we all know that how some of the riders and drivers follow the traffic rules and besides these, lack of strict rules from the end of the concerned law enforcing agency led to the “Khushikhushi Style of law breaker” mushrooming in our society.  And not forgetting the presence of fans of “FAST and FURIOUS” in and around Dimapur, which needs to be checked.

Ergo, in the interest of the public safety, appealing the concerned authority to look into the matter and take the trouble to come up with a plan to build the “Foot Bridge” at Burma Camp Junction, which is the need of the hour and shall ease the fear from the minds of pedestrians.

“Road safety is state of mind, accident is absence of mind”
